Maileg Furniture Guide - Sizes and Dolls House Compatibility

This guide explains the different Maileg furniture sizes, which dolls houses they fit, (including the IKEA Flisat, Maileg SuitCasa, Mouse Hole Farmhouse and the House of Miniature) and explains which Maileg characters they are designed for. It also covers how Maileg furniture relates to 1:12 dolls house scale.

What Size Is Maileg Furniture?

Maileg furniture comes in three sizes:

• Mouse size
• Baby Mouse size
• Miniature size

Each size is designed for specific Maileg characters and works best in particular dolls houses.

Mouse size furniture

As the name suggests, this furniture is designed for Maileg mice (and also fits Micro rabbits and bunnies). It fits Mum & Dad mice (including kings, queens and grandparents), and brothers and sister (big and little).

Baby Mouse furniture

This furniture is designed to fit baby mice and MY rabbits. There is a wide range of nursery furniture and accessories in this size. 

An explanation of 'My' & 'Micro' sizes

Although Maileg furniture is now labelled as 'mouse' or 'baby mouse', prior to 2023 Maileg used the labels My and Micro to describe furniture. As the older furniture and accessories are still available to buy, it's worth knowing that:

• My size furniture fits Baby Mice and My Rabbits
• Micro size furniture fits Brother and Sister mice (Big and Little), and sometimes Mum and Dad mice

In practice, My = Baby Mouse size, and Micro = Mouse size.

Miniature Size Furniture

This size is considerably larger than mouse and baby mouse furniture. It's designed for Maileg Rabbits and Bunnies up to size 2 and fits the House of Miniature. Learn more in our Guide to Maileg Rabbit and Bunny Sizes.

Which Maileg Furniture Fits the Mouse Hole Farmhouse?

The Mouse Hole Farmhouse is designed specifically for Maileg mice and micro rabbits/bunnies. It is designed to accommodate:

• Mouse size furniture
• Baby Mouse size furniture

Miniature furniture is too large for the Mouse Hole Farmhouse.

Which Maileg furniture fits the SuitCasa?

The SuitCasa has its own dedicated furniture range, released alongside it in Autumn Winter 2025. This furniture is designed to fit the smaller proportions of the SuitCasa exactly. Some Mouse size (Micro) furniture can also fit inside the SuitCasa, but not all pieces will work. Miniature furniture does not fit.

Which Maileg furniture fits the House of Miniature?

The House of Miniature is designed for Maileg’s Miniature furniture range. This furniture is much larger than Mouse or Baby Mouse furniture and is intended for:

• Rabbits and Bunnies up to Size 2
• The Teddy family

Although the House of Miniature is designed to be furnished primarily with its own 'Miniature' size furniture, it is also possible to mix in smaller pieces designed for Maileg mice if you wish. Many parents and collectors enjoy combining the two scales creatively.

Which Maileg furniture fits the IKEA Flisat Dolls house?

Although not a Maileg dolls house, the IKEA Flisat works well with:

• Mouse size furniture
• Baby Mouse size furniture

Miniature furniture is too large for the IKEA Flisat.

What scale is Maileg furniture?

Maileg furniture does not follow a strict dolls house scale. It is best thought of as its own scale.

Mouse and Baby Mouse furniture generally fits within 1:12 scale dollhouses, but it is not identical to traditional adult dolls house furniture. Some pieces, such as the vintage single bed, are very finely detailed and closely resemble real furniture. Other pieces are intentionally chunkier, designed to be robust and easy for small hands to play with.

However, this guidance applies only to Mouse and Baby Mouse furniture. Miniature furniture is a completely different size category, designed specifically for the House of Miniature and much larger than furniture intended for Maileg mice.

What scale are Maileg Accessories?

Maileg accessories, such as food and kitchen items, are often slightly larger in scale than the furniture. This is intentional because Maileg accessories are designed to be safe, sturdy and easy for children to handle. While they may not always look perfectly realistic in scale, they suit the imaginative nature of Maileg play. 

How much Maileg furniture is available?

The Maileg Mouse furniture collection is extensive, with a wide range of furniture and accessories designed for play. From bouncers and bathtubs to tricycles, tea sets and toasters, there is so much variety within the mouse furniture range.

The Miniature furniture range, designed for the House of Miniature, is more limited. This is worth keeping in mind when planning a House of Miniature setup.
