Maileg Mouse Size Guide

Part of our wider Maileg miniatures guide, this guide explains the different sizes of Maileg mice and which furniture and dolls' houses are suitable for each size of mouse.

Maileg mice come in four sizes: each representing a different member of the family: Mums and Dads; Big Brothers and Sisters; Little Brothers and Sisters and Baby mice. 

A quick heads-up: Maileg mouse names don’t always clearly indicate the size

Whilst Maileg mice follow a clear sizing system of Mums/Dads, Big Brothers/Sisters, Little Brothers/Sisters and Baby mice, the size isn’t always obvious from the product name.

Some mice include their size clearly in the title, for example Little Brother Mouse in a Matchbox. In these cases, the size is easy to spot at a glance.

However, with other mice, the size information is secondary or less obvious.

For example:

• In the case of some Maileg mice, such as 'Cowboy Mouse on a Rocking Horse, Little Brother', the size is mentioned as a secondary part of the product title. This is also true of 'King Mouse, Dad' and 'Queen Mouse, Mum'. 

• In some cases the size isn't mentioned at all. For example, Granddad Mouse is simply titled 'Granddad Mouse', even though it is the same size as Mum and Dad mice

Because of this, we include the size category and the height in centimetres in all of our Maileg mice product descriptions. So be sure to double-check, especially if you’re planning to buy or clothing for your mouse.

A note about Maileg mice and the House of Miniature

While the House of Miniature is designed specifically for size 1 and 2 bunnies, Maileg mice can live in it too! Because the house is made for larger characters, anything that fits a bigger rabbit or bunny will also fit a smaller one - there’ll just be extra space around them. Mixing mice, bunnies, and furniture of different sizes is completely fine and can make for charming, playful scenes. 

In the picture below, you can see a Baby Mouse and two Big Sister Mice in a Maileg kitchen scene. The washing machine, fridge, and kitchen are all designed for the Maileg House of Miniature. The mice are smaller than the furniture, but that just adds to the charm - it looks adorable and perfectly playful!
