How many rooms does the IKEA Flisat have?
The house is divided into four sections so you can create four different rooms, such as a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. If you prefer, you can leave out the dividing wall on the ground floor to create an open plan kitchen/living area which we have done in many of our IKEA dolls houses.

Is the IKEA Flisat dolls' house easy to build?
The IKEA dolls' house is actually really easy to build. The tricky bit is the figuring out what goes where. To make life easier, we suggest laying out all the pieces and matching them up with the steps in the instruction booklet before you begin building. It really helps to label each piece with a letter and then jot those same letters onto the steps in the booklet. Once you've figured that out, it's really easy to construct using the Allen key provided.

Do you need to decorate the IKEA Flisat Dolls' House for your Maileg mice?
You don’t need to decorate the IKEA Flisat dollhouse - it works perfectly well as a house straight away. However, many people choose to decorate it because it’s a fun, creative project and a lovely way to personalise the space. We’ve decorated lots of IKEA Flisat houses and usually opt for light, bright colours and hardwearing, child-friendly paints, but there’s no right or wrong approach. You can paint it, use gift wrap or wallpaper on the walls, add flooring, or keep it simple - the IKEA Flisat is a blank canvas, and how you decorate it is entirely up to you.

Decorating Your IKEA Flisat as a Maileg Mouse House
Which paint to use
Soft, light colours work beautifully with Maileg furniture and accessories, helping rooms feel bright and calm rather than busy. If the house will be well played with, choosing durable, child-safe paint is a good idea. We like to use Eggshell paint as it is hard-wearing and gives a nice sheen finish.
Wallpapering your house
In our previous IKEA Flisat builds we've used both Maileg gift wraps as wallpaper (the design 'Merle' is a customer favourite) and Maileg's wallpaper packs designed for the Maileg Farmhouse. We've generally left floors plain and added rugs for a cosy feel.
